Birmingham Gay Pride 2009

This is the annual event that I missed because I was really confident that the dates that I was looking for was right. As far as I know, it would take place before the spring bank holiday, definitely Sunday. But this time, they moved it to Saturday. That's why when Mayette and daughter, Akring and me went there on a Sunday, nothing was going on except in the gay village that there was a program going on.

Anyway, I will make it sure that I can attend this year's mardi gras in London, this coming July. And also, I will mark it on my diary for next year.

I was just wondering...whether you're also a gay? You don't have to answer that, of course. It's a liberated culture you've got there, tolerating or encouraging such festivities.

Although still frowned upon here in the Philippines, the presence and active participation of gays in almost all festivities here are getting more acceptance. In fact, many organizers and festival directors are gays.

It was a pity though, the LadLad Party List did not succeed in the past national elections. Perhaps they'd launch another campaign this 2010 National and Local Elections.
